Level Up Open Social Cup Registration Opens: 🗓 August 1st at 10:00 PM (Brisbane Time) Capacity Limit: 60 Leaders 60 Followers (Spots are limited and may fill quickly) --- Competition Structure Preliminary Round 3 heats of 20 couples 30 couples progress Quarter Final 2 heats of 15 couples 15 couples progress Semi Final 1 heat of 15 couples 6 couples progress Finals 6 finalist couples dance with the judges Advancement to Oceania Qualifiers: Top 3 Leads Top 3 Followers --- Competition Format Division: Open Level Style: Jack & Jill – social dance with randomly assigned partners Prohibited Elements: No lifts No acrobatics No choreography – dancing must be lead and follow, social floor-appropriate --- Judging Criteria Judges will be assessing the following: ● Connection (with your partner and the music) ● Technique (clarity, control, balance, and execution) ● Musicality (interpretation, timing, rhythm, and phrasing) ● Personality (expression, energy, and presence) ● Social Dancing Quality (lead/follow ability, adaptability, floorcraft) --- Participation Requirements Dorsal Numbers: Must be visibly worn at all times throughout the competition Dress Code: Stylish and expressive Comfortable and suitable for social dancing Avoid costumes; prioritize authenticity and practicality --- Code of Conduct All participants must uphold a respectful and inclusive environment. The following will not be tolerated: Harassment Discrimination Intimidation of any kind Support and celebrate fellow dancers – create a positive space both on and off the floor.
