Terms and Conditions · v1.0

Competition terms

What you accept when you register for one of our competitions. How everyone behaves is in the Code of Conduct, which is part of these terms.

1

What you agree to

These terms apply when you register for a competition of the Bachata Social World Cup, organized by Bachata Social World Cup Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), whether it is a qualifier, a cup or the World Cup Finals.

By registering, you accept these terms and also the Code of Conduct, the rules published on the event page and the judging criteria. They are part of these terms. We do not repeat them here so there is only ever one version of each.

Qualifiers are hosted by partner festivals, which may have their own conditions for the festival itself. Where both apply, the stricter rule wins.

2

Who can compete

You must be at least 16 years old on the day of the competition. Dancers under 18 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as explained in the Code of Conduct.

You register with your own account and true information: name, country, date of birth and role. The organizer may ask for an ID.

A registration is personal. It cannot be transferred to someone else unless the organizer agrees.

3

Payments and refunds

The fee, what it includes and who receives it (the Bachata Social World Cup or the hosting festival) are shown on the event page and at checkout.

Refunds follow the conditions shown for that event when you register. If an event is cancelled by its organizer, the fee for the competition is refunded.

A disqualification or a sanction under the Code of Conduct does not give a right to a refund.

4

Judging and results

Judges score independently against the published criteria. Their scores are final. We only correct results when there is a clear error in how scores were entered or calculated.

Questions about results go in writing to info@bachatasocialworldcup.com, never to the judges directly.

A qualification, a place, a title or a prize can be withdrawn if it was obtained by breaking these terms or the Code of Conduct.

5

Conduct and sanctions

Your behavior at the event, around it and online is covered by the Code of Conduct. Sanctions are decided case by case by the World Cup Committee, as described there, and apply at every Bachata Social World Cup competition.

6

Photos, videos and streaming

Competitions are photographed, filmed and may be streamed live. By registering, you allow the Bachata Social World Cup and the hosting organizer to use images and videos of you taken at the competition, together with your name, country and results, to show and promote the competition, without payment.

For dancers under 18, the consent of a parent or guardian applies, as explained in the Code of Conduct.

7

Your data

Your name, profile picture, country, role and results are public on the competition pages. Your contact details are only visible to you and to the organizers of the events you join.

We share your registration with the organizer of the event so they can run the competition.

8

Health and responsibility

You take part at your own risk and confirm you are fit to dance. Dance safely, as the Code of Conduct asks.

Bachata Social World Cup Pte. Ltd. and the hosting organizers are not liable for injury, loss or damage during a competition, except where the law does not allow this to be excluded.

9

Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms, the Code of Conduct or the rules of an event. The version in force on the day of the competition applies, and the date of the last change is shown on each page.

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Write to info@bachatasocialworldcup.com for any question.
