Host a competition

Host your festival's social bachata competition on the World Cup platform. As a qualifier, your best dancers earn their place at the World Cup Finals in Geneva. As an independent competition, you run your own format with the same tools.

Choose how you join

European Qualifier

The official European circuit of the World Cup.

A Direct Qualifier sends its winners, 1 leader and 1 follower, to Geneva. A Major Qualifier sends up to 3 leaders and 3 followers.

  • Finalists of other European Qualifiers can enter a Major Qualifier directly in the quarterfinal.
  • Your event joins the official European calendar and the communication of the circuit.

Intercontinental Qualifier

The road to Geneva for the Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa.

A Major Qualifier sends its top 3 leaders and followers to Geneva. In new or busy regions, a Direct Qualifier sends its winners.

  • The tier depends on the event: its scale and reach, attendance, number of competitors, international lineup, reputation and track record.
  • If a finalist already holds a Finals place, it goes to the next best dancer of that event.

Independent Competition

Our platform and standards, your own format.

Winners do not qualify for the World Cup Finals in Geneva: the event is not part of the qualifying pathway.

  • You keep full control of the format, categories, rules, judging and scoring.
  • A natural first step for festivals that want to become a qualifier later.

From application to results

How it works

01

Apply

Tell us about your festival: city, dates, the time the competition gets, venue, attendance, your lineup and the judges you have in mind.

02

Call and proposal

We review your event, agree the track and the conditions with you, and approve your judges. The coordinator of your region, if there is one, joins you from here on.

03

Confirm the partnership

You accept the partnership conditions, the brand guidelines and the Code of Conduct. You then receive your logos and media kit.

04

Set up your event

We help you create your event on the platform and review your rounds and judging. The format calculator sizes rounds, heats and songs.

05

Competition day

Check-in, marshalling and scoring run on the platform, with our team on hand for support.

06

Results and payout

We validate and publish the results, invite the qualified dancers to Geneva and pay you your share.

The partnership

Conditions

Commission

A commission of 30% applies to the registration fees of confirmed competitors. It covers the platform, support, the validation of results, the calendar, the communication of the circuit and the administration of your stage. Each partnership is confirmed with its own conditions.

Payout

We collect the registrations and pay you the rest within three to five business days after the competition.

Supervision

A member of the World Cup Committee is present at every European Qualifier and every Major Qualifier. Other qualifiers have an official competition coordinator on site. If nobody from our team already attends, the organizer covers their flights and accommodation.

Judges

You choose and book your judges, usually artists of your lineup, and cover their fees and logistics. We approve the panel so every event meets the same standard. Four or more judges per role is ideal.

Prizes

For a qualifier, the main prize is the place at the World Cup Finals. You are free to add prize money or other awards.

What the platform runs for you

  • Online registration and payment, with places for leaders and followers and a waiting list when you are full.
  • Check-in at the door and bib numbers for every competitor.
  • Heats drawn and called from a screen, so dancers know when they are on.
  • Judges score every heat on their phone, and results are calculated by relative placement.
  • Results validated by our team and published on your event page and on every dancer's profile.
  • Training on the platform and technical support before and during your event.

What we ask of you

  • Run registrations and scoring on the platform, and follow the competition formats of your circuit.
  • Treat every participant fairly, publish an accurate schedule, and give the judges and marshals a proper space to work.
  • Apply the Code of Conduct at your event and name one person on site who receives concerns.
  • Use the official names correctly: Bachata Social World Cup for the global circuit, World Cup Finals only for the final in Geneva, and the name of your own circuit or status for your event. Never write "BSWC qualifying event" or similar.
  • Use only the logos of your track, never modified. The Bachata Social World Cup logo needs our approval, and every visual with our branding is validated by us before it is published.
  • Partner status is given per edition and does not carry over to the next one.

Independent competition

Not ready to be a qualifier, or want your own format? Run your competition as an Independent Competition on our platform, with our support and the same standards.
