Connection over performance
The best social dancer is not the one with the most tricks. It is the one who listens, adapts and makes every partner feel safe and enjoyed. We judge that, and we try to live it off the floor too.
About the World Cup
The Bachata Social World Cup is a social dance competition. Every round, dancers meet partners they may never have danced with, to music they have never heard. What we look for is the dancer who makes any partner feel good. Through qualifiers in more than 25 countries and a World Cup Final in Geneva, we bring dancers from every nation onto one floor, each under their own flag.

What we stand for
01
The best social dancer is not the one with the most tricks. It is the one who listens, adapts and makes every partner feel safe and enjoyed. We judge that, and we try to live it off the floor too.
02
Every partner, every judge, every volunteer and every person in the audience deserves the same respect. Nobody is a joke: not for their country, their skin, their face, their accent, their body or who they are.
03
Dancers come to us from dozens of countries. Nationality, culture and origin are something we celebrate and carry with pride, never something to mock. Bachata was born in the Dominican Republic and belongs to everyone who dances it.
04
The same criteria everywhere, independent judges, published scores and honest results. When we get a result wrong, we say so and fix it.
05
Consent, boundaries and physical safety are part of good social dancing. A dancer who does not feel safe cannot connect, and a competition that is not safe has no winner worth the title.
06
Accountability applies to us first: the organization, its directors, its MCs and its judges. When something goes wrong, we say it, we act, and we learn from it in public.
07
We are open to every level, from first-time competitors to world champions. We believe in consequences, and also in education and second chances.
From values to rules
Our Code of Conduct turns these values into rules for everyone at our events: competitors, judges, MCs, staff, organizers and our own team.
