Ready to compete

Every dancer who is at least 16 years old on the day of the competition. Dancers under 18 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as the Code of Conduct explains.

Yes. You can register for any published qualifier, whatever your nationality or where you live. Pick the one that fits your travel and your calendar on the qualifiers page.

Open the event on the qualifiers page, choose your role, leader or follower, and pay online. You register with your own account and your true name, country and date of birth. The organizer may ask for an ID on the day.

Join the waiting list on the event page. If a place frees up, the organizer invites you and you get an email to confirm and pay.

No. A registration is personal and cannot be transferred, unless the organizer of the event agrees.

The fee is on the event page, in the currency of the event. You pay online by card when you register. The page and the checkout also show what the fee includes.

Usually not. Qualifiers are hosted by festivals, and the festival pass is sold by the festival. The event page tells you what is included and links to the pass when you need one.

Refunds follow the conditions shown for that event when you register. If the organizer cancels the event, the competition fee is refunded. A disqualification or a sanction does not give a right to a refund.

Pick up your bib at check-in, then follow the marshals: they call each heat. As on a social floor, you usually dance with partners you did not choose and change partner during the heat, while the judges watch every dancer. The best dancers of each round go through to the next, up to the final.

Each judge gives every dancer a score, and each scorecard becomes that judge's ranking. A place goes to the dancer a majority of judges ranks highest. The scoring algorithm explains it step by step, with an example you can try.

The event page lists the judges of each competition. The Judges directory shows everyone who has judged with us.

On the Results tab of the event page, as soon as the organizer publishes each round, and in the competition history on your profile.

Write to info@bachatasocialworldcup.com. Never contact the judges about scores. The judges' scores are final; we only correct a result when there is a clear error in how scores were entered or calculated.

Yes. Competitions are photographed, filmed and may be streamed live, and the images can be used to show and promote the competition. The Terms explain it.

You receive an official invitation to the World Cup Finals by email and in your dashboard. Accept it and pay your Finals registration before the deadline in the invitation. If you do not confirm in time, your place goes to the next dancer.

Yes. The Finals registration is separate from the qualifier fee: it pays for the championship itself, the venue, the production, the judges and the prize money.

You keep one Finals place. Your new result still stands, but the place it would have given you goes to the best dancer of that final who has not qualified yet. If every finalist already has a place, it is not given.

Decline the invitation as early as you can, from the email or your dashboard. Your place then goes to another dancer.

Your name, profile picture, country, role and results. Your phone, email and date of birth are only visible to you and to the organizers of the events you join.
