About the competition
El Sol Bachata Social Competition 2027 – Amateur Independent Competition powered by Bachata Social World Cup We are excited to announce the El Sol Bachata Social Competition 2027, taking place during El Sol Bachata Festival on April 9–11, 2027, at Sound Garden Hotel in Warsaw, Poland. Organized in collaboration with Bachata Social World Cup, this Independent Competition uses the official Digital Competition Hub for registrations, competitor management, judging and results. The competition is designed to reward authentic social dancing, musicality, connection, adaptability and the ability to create an enjoyable dance experience with different partners. 📅 Event Details Festival: El Sol Bachata Festival Festival Dates: April 9–11, 2027 Venue: Sound Garden Hotel, Warsaw, Poland Competition: El Sol Bachata Social Competition 2027 Division: Amateur Division only Competition Schedule: Competition rounds may take place on any festival day, April 9–11, 2027. The exact dates and times will be confirmed closer to the festival. Registration Deadline: To be announced Competition Entry Fee: 25 EUR Judges: Official judges panel; lineup to be announced Official Registration: Updated registration link to be announced 💃 Amateur Division This competition is open exclusively to Amateur dancers. The Amateur division is intended for dancers who do not receive payment for teaching Bachata or dancing Bachata professionally. Participants are expected to register according to their actual status. The organizers reserve the right to review registrations and move participants if necessary to ensure fairness. 🧩 Competition Format The competition follows a Jack & Jill inspired social dance format. Participants register individually as Leaders or Followers. Partners are assigned during the competition and dancers rotate throughout the rounds. The competition focuses on individual social dancing skills rather than choreography or performance. The event may include: • Preliminaries • Semi Finals • Finals All rounds may take place on any festival day, April 9–11, 2027. The final schedule will be confirmed closer to the festival. The exact number of heats and progression structure will depend on the final number of competitors. 🧠 Judging Each dancer is judged individually in their role as Leader or Follower. Judging focuses on: • Fundamentals • Timing • Body Control • Clean Movement • Connection • Communication • Adaptability • Musicality • Creativity & Style • Positive Presence • Partner Comfort Authentic social dancing is valued above choreography, tricks and show elements. 🏆 Awards In addition to diplomas, competitors will have the opportunity to win passes for future El Sol events and prizes from event partners. 🎟 Festival Pass Requirements To participate in the competition, every competitor must hold both: • A valid competition registration • A valid festival pass covering all days on which their competition rounds take place Eligible festival passes: ✅ VIP Pass Competition rounds may be scheduled on any day of the festival, April 9–11, 2027. Please take this into account when purchasing your festival pass and planning your trip. If your festival pass does not provide access to all required competition days, you will not be allowed to compete. 💰 Refund Policy All competition registrations and entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No refunds will be issued if a participant cancels or does not attend the event. Festival pass refunds are subject to the festival’s general terms and conditions.
