I started my dance journey with salsa while in college. I took several pauses from dance (during my pregnancies and during nursing school), but always came back to it on occasion. After Covid, I suffered a debilitating neck and shoulder injury that kept me from working as a nurse. That injury taught me that I needed to heal and get back to the dance floor. Dance has always brought me joy and while I’m dancing I feel most like my authentic self. I started learning bachata 3 years ago and feel like I’ve only just scratched the surface. I love bachata music and love how there are so many ways to interpret a song with each new partner and connection. The creativity is endless, dance is art in motion. I’ve never competed in a Jack and Jill, so I’m excited for this experience and to see where it takes me!
